Jayne Hickling has worked within secondary education for the past 23 years. Within this time, she has co-ordinated and lead a number of community orientated projects, which has included the Emerge Boston festivals in 2018 and 2019, in conjunction with The Mighty Creatives. These festivals brought together a number of local artists and young people in the community to celebrate the arts. In 2015, Jayne established the online community Allotment Cooks, and has developed a passion for sharing and inspiring tips on grow your own and recipes. She is a regular contributor to the BBC Radio Lincolnshire Sunday Gardening programme, as well as having been featured in Kitchen Garden magazine. She has contributed presentations to the Lincolnshire Food Partnership on school's growing projects and was a public speaking contributor to Edible Grimsby 2022. Over the last four years, Jayne has also been a supporter and contributor of local community projects in Horncastle and the surrounding villages, as an advocate for the local food banks and food hubs -encouraging others to donate their surplus in order to support the local community.
